Final judging at the Scottish Taditional Ale Festival took place on Thursday 20th June 2008. Scapa Special came out on top with Highland Brewing also taking a remarkable third spot with Orkney Best.

Scapa Special at 4.2% ABV is a very balanced pale ale which is a pleasant drink on its own or with food.
Orkney Best at 3.6% ABV is a stunning Orkney Pale Ale which is well hopped to give it a satisfying clean flavour – while not too hoppy!

Dark Munro won the trophy in 2007 which was a fantastic result for a relatively new brew.

The beers are brewed at Swannay in Orkney using maris otter malt , with a fine selection of hops from around the world being blended to give balanced hop flavours in each brand.

Exceptional consistent quality is maintained across the whole range.

Ales are far more complex than the finest wines but available at your local bar for a fraction of the cost, with some serious craic for good measure.
