Everards Pub Takes Local Football Team Under Wing

A Kettering based football club is celebrating a successful season following a sponsorship arrangement with local pub, The Beeswing.
Kettering FC Beeswing plays in the Division One Kettering Sunday League and finished runners-up in the league this year and reached the semi-finals of the local Quincey cup.
The Beeswing plays host to the team’s annual presentation and participates in fundraising events to cover the cost of pitch fees and equipment. The team was also provided with twenty polo shirts by Everards, the Leicestershire Brewery, to be worn after matches and at social events.
Kettering FC Beeswing manager, Dave Fairbrother said: “We are very grateful to The Beeswing and Everards for their support this year. We are really pleased with the shirts Everards provided and the lads wear them all the time. The Beeswing really look after us as well, by providing post match hospitality and helping us buy our kit.” James Wykes, Licensee of the Beeswing said: “We like to be involved with the local football team and are more than happy to help out. We try to have regular fundraising events for the team and our race night is very popular, raising about £450 each time.”
Everards marketing manager Erika Hardy said: “Sunday league football is a fantastic way for pubs to interact with their community and Everards has always been committed to supporting local clubs and initiatives.”
Anyone interested in playing for Kettering FC Beeswing should call manager Dave Fairbrother on 07756 971 623.
Everards Brewery has a pub estate of 166 houses around the Midlands, all of which are run under the Everards banner as individual businesses by the licensees. The pubs vary widely from city centre venues to traditional village pubs.
