Okells IoM pub Thomas Rigby’s has racked up another trophy for the mantel. In a black tie ceremony at St. George’s Hall in Liverpool, Thomas Rigby’s picked up the award for ‘Bar of the Year’ in The Mersey Partnership Annual Tourism Awards. The judging panel described Rigby’s as, “Offering all the characteristics and service of a great bar coupled with the dedication, passion and high level of service and enthusiasm from all the staff.”

This is another great achievement for the Okells IoM pub as earlier in the year Thomas Rigby’s received the Publican’s National Award for Beer and Food Pairing Pub of the Year. Manager of Thomas Rigby’s and Courtyard Restaurant, Fiona Hornsby was also presented earlier this year with the Mersey Partnership Award for Apprentice Employer in Hospitality for all her hard work and dedication of time to the commitment and training of young people in the hospitality industry.

There were three bars shortlisted for the Bar of the Year in the Mersey Tourism Awards including the other Okells IoM Liverpool pub Fly in the Loaf.

“This is a great achievement for our two pubs in Liverpool and I am extremely pleased to see such a warm and positive response from the Liverpool population. It is also great to have the local Isle of Man residents support and visit the pubs in their journies across.” (Grant Paterson, Joint Managing Director, Heron & Brearley)
