| There are now 22 principal councils that have resolved to ‘opt in’ to (i.e. use) the Sustainable Communities Act. They are listed on the front page of our website – www.localworks.org. This is very encouraging given it’s only a month since the Act’s process started. Also it’s great news for your members in the areas of these councils because it means they can now use the Act’s powers.
In order to see the majority of principal councils deciding to use the Act they need to hear a loud and clear call from their residents to do so. Please take time to write to your councillors. For a sample letter, please go to the forum or click here |
