| UK brewer and pub owner Fuller, Smith & Turner is to spend GBP4 million to accommodate smokers who will be forced to take their cigarettes outside following the implementation of a UK smoking ban on July 1, 2007. The company, which is responsible for the London Pride brand, said that the cash will go towards improving outside areas at its premises, including the erection of canopies, large umbrellas, and other forms of shelter, at its 360-strong chain of pubs. Some of the refurbishment has gone ahead already, with more to follow.
