The Inveralmond Brewery Limited, based in Perth, today announced its support for Homecoming Scotland 2009 with the launch of a new beer. Homecoming Beer will be available in cask and mini-cask from 25 January, the official launch date of the Scottish Government’s celebration of Scottish contributions to the world.

Inveralmond will offer drinkers the opportunity to try a Scottish beer which, although very definitely Scottish, takes influences from across the globe. Commenting on the launch, Inveralmond’s Managing Director, Fergus Clark, said “We believe this beer reflects the best Scotland has to offer, combining influences from across the world, bringing them home, and marrying them in our brewery in Perth, the heart of Scotland.”

There are hundreds of events planned for Homecoming Scotland 2009 up and down the country, and Clark hopes that this special beer will help those events go with a swing. “Many of the Homecoming 2009 activities will be licensed, and we would hope to make our beer available at those events whenever possible.”

The beer, brewed by Head Brewer Ken Duncan, is “a beautiful, burnished amber colour and has aromas reminiscent of forest fruits and floral spice.”. The taste is an inviting mix of biscuity malt and pleasing hops. Ken is sure the beer is worth coming home for.
