A E Chapman and Son Ltd, the UK’s premier glass container stockist and supplier of glass packaging to the Beverage, Mineral Water and Wine producers in the UK, are delighted to announce the launch of their two new 300gm Lightweight 500ml Beer Containers.

Following the successful launch of our two lightweight mineral water ranges last year, we have worked closely with our supplier O-I at their plant in Harlow, Essex and are now able to offer all Regional Brewers the benefits of the latest technological developments in lightweight glass packaging, having reduced the weight of these containers by more than 15%. The benefits of this weight saving could obviously have a positive impact on our customers production costs, in a climate where we are all currently seeing many negative influences.

In recent months, we have analysed the market, and based on our findings, offer these two containers. Both are produced at 300gms here in the U.K. One has a diameter of 69mm, the other 73mm. The rationale behind these two designs, firstly, being the desire by the High- Street multiples, to maximise shelf facings, hence the diameter of 69mm and secondly, the 73mm diameter container offers a more traditional style, which should be accommodated on many existing filling lines without the necessity for additional ‘change parts’.
