Batemans Tops British Categories At World Beer Championships Usa

Batemans, the Lincolnshire based Brewery and Retailer has recently returned to the USA export market with a selection of its flagship brands and has taken top honours and gold medals at the prestigious World Beer Championships. Gold medal winners include, Combined Harvest, in the Bitter Ale Category and XXXB (Triple XB) in the British Style Pale Ale Category. The World Beer Championships, founded in 1994, is America’s oldest international beer competition and is open to all commercially produced beers from around the world, regardless of US distribution.
Both these beers are no strangers to accolades. XXXB in cask, has won CAMRA’s Premium Beer of the Year five times as well as winning the Gold medal in the Premium Ale category of the British Bottled Beer Institute in 2006. Combined Harvest was awarded the gold medal in the 2007 World Beer Awards held in association with Beers of the World Magazine.
Batemans XXXB has an ABV of 4.8%. It is a strong bitter with a complex palate, consisting of a delicate aroma of hops delightfully balanced by a prominent malty character. Combined Harvest has an ABV of 4.7% and is a unique multigrain beer with a delightful floral start and finish.
Alan Shapiro of SBS Imports, Seattle, Washington who handles distribution on behalf of Batemans in the USA says; “This is fantastic recognition of a great British brand which has only recently re-entered the US Market. Proof enough of the American appreciation of great traditional brewed beer bursting with quality and flavour.”
Jaclyn Bateman, Batemans marketing and export director says;
“This is excellent news for us as the World Beer Championships are respected internationally. Winning two gold medals, so soon after re-entering the market, is a huge boost and very rewarding for all of the Batemans team.”
