Brewer backs World Cup bid


St Austell lends support to Plymouth’s attempt to become host city

St Austell brewery has done its bit to raise the profile of Plymouth’s bid to host matches should the 2018 World Cup arrive in England.

Pilgrim Pete – Plymouth Argyle’s mascot – met St Austell’s Trevor Tribute at the brewery earlier this week as part of a bid to become a host city.

 

A tour of the West Country is being organised by Plymouth Argyle, is trying to encourage people back Devon and Cornwall’s bid.

Jeremy Mitchell, head of marketing at St Austell, said: “St Austell Brewery fully supports Plymouth Argyle’s bid to host the 2018 World Cup in Plymouth and we were delighted to welcome Pilgrim Pete to the Brewery.”
