On Monday 19th October Scottish & Newcastle (UK) Ltd  will be hosting an IBD (Institute of Brewing & Distilling) evening lecture on the subject of Energy Saving and we would like to alert you to what may well be your last ever opportunity to visit the Berkshire Brewery before closure and redevelopment. This is an open meeting and SIBA members will be most welcome to join IBD members in Reading.   

There will be a brewery tour at 1800 (groups as necessary from that time) followed by a lecture in the Fosters Room (meet at 1900 for 1930) with drinks and a buffet to follow.  Finish will be by 2200.

The lecture will be given by Fred Bechman of Alectia (formerly of Penborn Technical Services), a well known visitor to Berkshire Brewery over the years, with projects such as the “New” Yeast Block and the Tanker bay projects.  The lecture will cover the current drive for Energy Saving/efficiency projects, particularly Biomass installations, and offer some thoughts on the future.
