Raising The Bar – Micro Matic Print Technology Investment

Micro Matic, an international leader in draft beer equipment, is investing for growth with the purchase of a new state of the art printing machine.  Despite challenging times for the industry, forward thinking Micro Matic was first in its field to invest in flat bed UV digital print technology many years ago.  This further investment in roller fed digital print equipment offers the UK drinks industry enhanced flexibility in point of sale; critical for raising sales at the bar.

Blackburn based Micro Matic recently purchased the roller fed Mimaki printer and cutter to compliment its existing digital and screen printing capabilities and offer a complete range of options to create bespoke branded items for the drinks industry.  With an enviable list of world class clients, the team at Micro Matic know innovation is key to improving sales for the recession hit on trade sector.

The CJV30-100 printer is capable of printing up to 17.3m2 per hour using a four colour process.  Detailed high quality images are replicated onto media less than 1.00mm thick which offers even more tailor made solutions.  Paul Welsh, print manager at Micro Matic knows that improving flexibility and speed to market are critical to help the drinks market fight back.

Paul commented “This is a significant move for Micro Matic.  Not only can we produce large volume prints on much thinner materials, but we can also achieve much quicker turnarounds for our customers.  Having the added feature of cutting means we can now print and cut designs to virtually any shape, quickly, easily and in one operation.

By integrating the technology of our digital printers, we now offer customers a greater choice of products and flexibility.  The new printer extends our in-house manufactured range from labels, panels and pump clips to large banners and signs.  Micro Matic is now a one stop shop for motivating point of sale”.

Micro Matic purchased the printer from Grantham’s based in Blackpool. Grantham’s is an authorised reseller of the new printer manufactured by Mimaki Engineering, based in Tokyo.

Sue Wright, at Grantham’s commented “We’ve worked with Micro Matic for many years now and we are delighted that they approached us to expand their printing capacity.  The CJV30 series is the ideal machine for both the high quality and quick response that is needed by Micro Matic’s customers.”
