Wadworth Horizon, a pale golden beer with a zesty, citrus aroma has been picked by Sainsbury’s customers to feature in their Great British Beer Hunt 2012.

The beer is one of the 20 top ales picked by customers to be sold in store from 12^th September to 3^rd October. Horizon was selected from a huge number of beers put forward by over 150 brewers from across the country.

“We are absolutely delighted that Horizon has made the top 20 in this really exciting competition from Sainsbury’s that aims to give shoppers a great choice of interesting beers,” said Brand Manager Christine Evers. “Horizon is a popular and well known beer in our pubs across Wadworthshire, but this gives it a national platform, and it is exciting to think that customers from all over the country will now be able to enjoy its crisp, uplifting taste.”

Entries to the competition were invited in the Spring, and the beers were categorised by region and judged by selected customers and industry experts during April and May. The beers that received the most votes at each regional event, including Horizon, are on sale nationally in Sainsbury’s stores for three weeks from 12^th September.

The two best-performing beers in store by sales will then go into a grand finale in early October when the winner and runner-up will be announced. The winner will receive a guaranteed six-month listing in Sainsbury’s stores across the length and breadth of the country from November this year.
