The YourRound British Beer Guide iPhone app was launched in 2011 capturing all the information from the YourRound online database of real ales and ciders.

Now Android users can share the same information updated live by UK brewers.

With 10000 beers this is sure to received with the same enthusiasm from the real ale community as the iPhone version.

Updates are made by the UK brewers in response to requests from pubs, retailers and beer festivals, who in turn instantly contacted local customers alerting them which products they had on sale.

The guide does what it says on the tin and is purely a beer guide. Users love being able to instantly check beer details at pubs and festivals – “I think the concept is great. A fantastic, practical and useful app that I find indispensable.” says Damien from Lichfield. As all data is stored on the phone, no signal is required – handy for use in remote areas.

Like its iPhone equivalent, updates are downloaded automatically when a brewer adds new beers, keeping the app information fresh and relevant. The BBG is an essential companion to any beer fan as it allows you to rate favourites and add your own notes to review all the new and exciting drinks you encounter.

A unique feature is a link to each beer’s online YourRound page. Here users can see a live view of which pub, retailer or beer festival currently have it on sale, as well as linking out to the brewer’s full product range and web pages. Users also then ‘Follow’ the beer, adding it to a YourRound favourites list so that they can receive SMS or e-mail alerts whenever it becomes available locally. These pages also have Facebook links. By ‘liking’ the beer, the information is instantly shared with drinkers friends so they can also find out more information about your beers.
