Craft brewers Freedom Brewery will be sharing the secrets of its hand-crafted beers as part of Channel 4 television series, Food Unwrapped.
Freedom welcomed the cameras to its Staffordshire brewery, which is situated on top of an underground lake of sustainable brewing water, as part of the series which investigates the science behind food and drink production.
Managing Director Ed Mayman and Master Brewer Ian Ward showed presenter Matt Tebbutt how Freedom makes its range of hand-crafted lagers and stout using only five ingredients: water, barley, hops, yeast and the final ‘ingredient’, time – for the brews to mature.
Ed Mayman said: “This was a fantastic chance to help people fully understand how craft lager is produced and to show just how much hard work, care and dedication goes into the process.”
Freedom Brewery will be featured in episode four of Food Unwrapped, due to be broadcast on Channel 4 on Monday 1st October.
