Wood's Drinkers help raise £550
Wood’s drinkers in Shropshire and the West Midlands have helped Shropshire Wildlife Trust to a £550 bonus in the Trust’s 50th anniversary year, 2012.
The south Shropshire brewery donated 5p for every pint sold of its specially brewed beer, Wild Shropshire and drinkers duly downed more than 10,000 pints over the course of last year.
Wood’s MD Edward Wood presented the Trust’s Diane Monether with a cheque in the shape of a buzzard, marking the handover with a celebration pint despite the snow.
“We are very grateful to Woods Brewery and all the people who have purchased pints of this beautiful brew,” said Colin Preston, Director of Shropshire Wildlife Trust. “This was a fantastic way to support our work looking after the county’s wild places.”
