In response to demand for more local information about craft brewers, YourRound has expanded it’s free BeerCAM app for iPhone and Android to include brewers as well as pubs.
Terry Dicks, founder and director at YourRound says “Dozens of people have asked us if we can tell them what breweries are in and around a certain town, and up to now we could only do this on our main and mobile sites. With this latest addition to the BeerCAM app, people can simply click ‘use my location’ and the app will tell them all about the nearest brewers to where they are standing with links to full details on all their beers – and where they are on sale in YourRound registered pubs.”
All brewers connected to the YourRound system are included in the Apps and the links to the mobile pages encourage people to sign up to ‘follow’ beers so they can get alerts when they are on sale locally to them.
It’s free for brewers to add the information, but paid up brewers can also add promotional graphics and links to their own automatically generated mobile websites to advertise their brewery shops, pubs, offers or other product lines, all of which are quickly reached from the BeerCAM App.
There are now over 12000 beers and ciders on the YourRound database which connects the Cask Ale supply chain providing facilities for pubs, shops and beer festivals to promote their offerings at the venue, on-line and on-mobile.
Terry Continues “We originally had to add about 3000 beers, but now the majority of brewers are fully engaged with YourRound, we hardly ever have to add information ourselves. As the brewer owns the content it’s totally accurate and not subject to personal opinions and potentially damaging reviews.”
