Everards named top pub company
Leicestershire brewery Everards has won a national award for the successful management of its 170-strong estate of pubs.
The Publican Awards named Everards Brewery ‘Pub Company of the Year 2013’ (tenanted/leased 20 – 199 outlets), in recognition of the company’s flexible approach and comprehensive tenant support package. Considered the most prestigious in the industry, The Publican Awards attract entries from the UK’s top breweries and pub companies.
Everards was commended by the judges for its dedicated assistance of licensees. The judging panel commented: “the comprehensive package of support the company provides its tenants was backed up by a personal, innovative and flexible approach to growing its business for the benefit of itself and, most importantly, its licensees.”
In a highly competitive category with only three finalists, Everards was up against Cardiff-based SA Brain & Co. and Cornwall’s St Austell Brewery. The accolade marks the fourth time that Everards has been named Pub Company of the Year, following Publican Award wins in 2007, 2008 and 2010.
Richard Everard, Chairman, commented: “We’re delighted to have won another Publican Award. Everards is always looking to strengthen its recruitment and licensee support and our latest innovations have paid dividends. We are so proud of the entire team and are passionate about supporting great people to run great pubs.”
The Everards team collected the accolade at a glittering ceremony hosted by comedian Rob Brydon. 1,200 guests descended on the Grosvenor House Hotel in London for the event, which took place on 11 March.
