Drinking a toast to Canal Water
As a section of the Buckingham Canal gets closer to holding water for the first time in 75 years, Buckingham’s Microbrewery has teamed up with the canal society to launch a promotional beer.
Buckingham Canal Water is produced by Buckingham Brewery. The brewery will supply the beer to order via retailers, free houses and the brewery shop. Buckingham canal society will receive a donation for each bottle sold.
Buckingham MP, Speaker of the House of Commons and canal society patron John Bercow officially launched to beer at the brewery last Friday (Friday 12th July). Mr Bercow said: “This is an excellent way for one of the local businesses to support the work of the canal society. In turn the canal society is supporting the ecomony and promotion of Buckingham. “Brewery Owner Matthew Hynes said: “It’s a great opportunity for us, as a local brewery, to help support the canal restoration work of the society. We are looking forward to this being a long term project to promote both the canal and the first commercial brewery in Buckingham for more than 100 years.
