Raw Brewing Company & Enterprise Inns Re-open the Butchers Arms
Friday 2nd August 2013 saw the Butchers Arms in Woodsetts Nottinghamshire re-open after over 7 months of closure. A partnership between Enterprise Inns and local brewery Raw Brewing Company.
Enterprise Inns worked with Raw Brewery to understand their beer tie requirements that were needed for the consumer offer. This
resulted in a part tie, allowing Raw Brewing Company to stock their own cask and kegs ales along with other cask ales from across
the country.
Raw Brewing Company was created April 2010 by David Hemstock & Michelle Tuddenham. David & Michelle have created a new pub company Raw Pubs Ltd to manage this new site and other potential sites. The Butchers Arms has familiar features to the other 2 pubs that are linked to Raw. The Arkwright Arms, Duckmanton and White Swan, Chesterfield that are owned and run by
John & Kathy Chadwick shareholders in Raw Brewing Company have both featured heavily in the design and the site has been fully refurbished with this in mind.
David Hemstock – Managing Director Raw Brewing Company Ltd & Raw Pubs Ltd ” After many discussions with Enterprise trying to find a pub and a flexible beer tie that would fit with our business we came across the Butchers Arms. This site had been closed for several months and was the ideal site for us to work with. We saw the potential of its village location and knew straight away it would work as a traditional cask pub with good home cooked food.”
Duncan Marsden (Divisional Director) Enterprise Inns says ” We are delighted with the outcome of the Butchers Arms and the commitment that RAW Brewery have shown to this magnificent local pub. The pub is a real asset to the community of Woodsetts and I am sure that it will attract visitors from all over South Yorkshire due to the high quality offer that is now available”.
The selection on the menu includes – 8-10 Real ales on at any one time including the Raw Mucky Duck 3.7% and Courage Bitter 4.0% as the 2 house beers, a regular selection of Raw ales along with other local and national micro breweries ales will feature on the guest pumps. Raw Keg which will include Black Stout 4.1% and Silver Pale 4.7% to start with will be available along with 3 different lagers, continental beers and ciders. A specially selected wines list, bottled craft world beers and bottled real ciders are available along with a home cooked food menu.
The site will be managed by Steven Lefley and Kirstie Swallow, both have experience in real ales pubs and will ensure we deliver high quality with friendly service. Both have many ideas they will be working on over the coming months to make this a real community pub.
