Silver Streak For Lancashire Brewery
A Lancashire craft brewery has scooped three top awards at a regional beer competition last week.
Cross Bay Brewery based in Morecambe more than held their own in the SIBA North West competition, winning three awards in the 15 categories on the night.
Over 70 judges voted on the day selecting from almost 200 cask ales and 85 different bottled beers from over 50 different breweries around Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria, Isle of Man, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
Cross Bay was awarded Silver Medals in the Standard Bitters, Best Bitter and Bottled Bitters over 5% categories.
Head Brewer Nick Taylor said, “It’s a fantastic result for the brewery, to win not one but three awards for our regular beers has made our year”.
“We work extremely hard to ensure that every cask and bottle is of the highest standard possible and we work continuously to introduce people to the joys of cask ale, these awards show that the high standards we demand of ourselves are recognised in the quality of our beer”.
However the brewery doesn’t intend to rest on its laurels, with plans to introduce a range of speciality beers to join Halo, Sunset, Nightfall and Zenith in bottle within the next twelve months, plus a range of seasonal beers for cask in the New Year.
