New face at Castle Rock Brewery
Scott Ryder has been appointed to the newly created post of head of sales at Nottingham based Castle Rock Brewery. Brought up in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, Scott brings with him over 20 years experience of drinks retailing and the pub trade. First with Britvic in the 1980s, he has, through a series of takeovers and promotions worked with many of the UK’s largest companies including PepsiCo, Greenalls, and more recently Greene King following their acquisition of Hardys and Hansons, and Marston’s.
“My role is to help all Castle Rock customers get more from the brewery which in recent years has, by necessity, focussed on the development of its product range,” he says. “Now that the brands are established and secure, we see our future as becoming more progressive in our approach to sales and marketing to give our key accounts, the free trade and our own small estate the best service we can.
“And part of this will be an increase in the brewery’s output to make our core range available to more customers. This will entail bringing the brewery up to full capacity of 360 barrels a week from its current 240,” says Scott.
Castle Rock’s managing director, Colin Wilde, says: “We first met Scott when he was selling us the local beers from Hardys and Hansons. His personal and organisational skills were impressive and we’ll be calling on these for the next stage of Castle Rock’s development. I am confident Scott will help us achieve our ambitions.”
