Moorhouse's raises a glass to Halloween success
Lancashire brewer Moorhouse’s is eyeing further growth on the back of its best ever month for sales. David Grant, managing director of the Burnley-headquartered business, told Insider the company turned over more than £500,000 in October following a Halloween sales push and spoke about its plans for future growth and the way the company plans to embrace social media.
Grant said an increase in trading partners led to the company achieving its best ever month for sales in October 2013 and selling 643 barrels of ale in the month.
“We trade now with national wholesalers that we never use to do,” he said. “We’re trying to become the brewer for the Halloween and October period and a number of people are sitting up and taking notice.”
“We’re trading with businesses such as Heineken UK, Enterprise Inns and Punch Taverns because they want their customers to take advantage of the Halloween period. It’s the third busiest time for the industry after Christmas and Easter and licensees that don’t do anything at Halloween are really missing a trick.”
