The Royal Oak re-opens after £62K Revamp
The Royal Oak in Lindale has turned over a new leaf following a joint £62k investment from Robinson’s Brewery and licensee Nick Kirkpatrick.
“Over the last several years we have received tremendous support from the brewery,” said Nick. “Our vision has really come to life thanks to the support of the brewery’s development managers, property team and marketing team. I know that the new look will make a massive difference to the community and our loyal regulars.”
Nick took over the village favourite 4 years ago. With 35 years of experience under his belt, Nick’s vision was to make The Royal Oak a community driven pub with an outstanding food offering and an excellent assortment of hand-pulled cask ales. Over the past 4 years The Royal Oak has done just that. Having built this reputation, the next step was to update the pubs exterior and interior to restore it to its former splendour.
“The pub was looking a little tired,” recalls Robinsons’ Business Development Manager, Steve Robinson, “it was in need of an update to match its exceptional food offering and ultimately make the pub more welcoming for customers.”
Speaking of the previous look, Nick said: “Walking into the old pub was like walking into your living room, it had character but did not have a country feel to it at all. With the new décor we have finally achieved the look that the pub and our customers deserve.”
The Royal Oak’s exterior now boasts a new colour scheme with traditional hand painted signage, lighting and landscaping while the interior is adorned with a soft colour palette of blues, greens and neutral tones. A new stove and mantel have been installed in the top dining area along with a cast iron fireplace to create a key focal point on entering.
“It looks completely different now,” continued Nick, “the revamp has transformed The Royal Oak and it really looks fantastic. We have log burners and roaring fires for the first time. It truly matches the idea of what a faithful country pub should look and feel like. With the new refurbishment, we know that anyone who is walking past will feel intrigued to come and see exactly what The Royal Oak has to offer.”
The Royal Oak is now open. Nick and his staff look forward to welcoming customers old and new to this destination hostelry.
