Local Brewery Celebrates Black & Amber Milestone.
Local brewer Great Newsome Brewery is promoting local footballing success by collaborating with the Hull City Official Supporters Club and producing a new bottle beer to celebrate the club’s 10th anniversary.
A run of 3,000 bottles of the black and amber branded “Tigers’ Pride” has been produced to help fans celebrate the HCOSC milestone and will go on sale in the run up to the festive period. The name for the amber coloured beer came following a request by HCOSC to its members to come up with a suitable title for a commemorative beer.
The 4.1% session bitter which is light amber in colour has been brewed by the award winning Great Newsome Brewery which recently won the title for its Frothingham Best of ‘World’s Best Bitter up to 5%’ in the World Beer Awards. Tigers’ Pride will be on sale from numerous outlets including directly from Great Newsome Brewery, Tigers Leisure at the KC Stadium and online through Yorkshireales.co.uk.
“As huge Hull City fans we jumped at the chance to brew a beer to help celebrate the anniversary of the official supporters club,” said Matthew Hodgson from Great Newsome Brewery, “It gave us chance to brew a brand new beer that we think the fans will love but it is just a shame you can’t brew beer that’s both amber and black in colour”.
“Like many other Hull City fans I am looking forward to raising a glass of Tigers’ Pride to Steve Bruce and the boys over the festive period”, he added.
HCOSC is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its formation with the membership currently standing at over 1500 members. The HCOSC has a number of branches both locally and nationally offering members a range of benefits including local meetings with club’s players and free pre match entry to the Sports Arena Bar.
Great Newsome Brewery which uses old local dialect and points of interest to name its beers, like Sleck Dust, Pricky Back Otchan and Frothingham Best is based on a working farm near Patrington just outside Hull and celebrated its 6th birthday back in April. It now supplies its award winning cask and bottles beers throughout the UK and overseas.
