Peterborough-based independent Brewer – Oakham Ales Building Popularity in Scotland
Eight Wetherspoon, centrally based Glasgow pubs, have selected Peterborough based brewery, Oakham Ales, to supply at least ten of their award-winning beers for its inaugural Glasgow Ale Festival (10th-19th February 2014). These Oakham Ales loving pubs are in addition to the five pubs* that have recently signed up to the brewers’ popular ‘Oakademy of Excellence’ which means they stock Oakham Ales on a permanent basis.
The eight Glasgow pubs include; HENGLER’S CIRCUS – 351-363 Sauchiehall Street, EDWARD G WYLIE – 107-109 Bothwell Street, CAMPERDOWN PLACE – 4 -5 West George Street, SIR JOHN MOORE – 260-292 Argyle Street, CRYSTAL PALACE – 36 Jamaica Street, SOCIETY ROOM – 151 West George Street, THE LORD OF THE ISLES – Xscape, King’s Inch Road and the COUNTING HOUSE – 9 St Vincent Place.
Adrian Posnett, Oakham’s managing director says: “It’s a great opportunity to showcase our ales in the centre of Glasgow and rewarding to learn that our reputation for producing great ales is spreading far beyond our heartland. It’s particularly pleasing to learn that our ales were specially requested by these pubs.”
