Hollywood Raises Homecoming Toast
Hollywood actor, Alan Cumming, has tipped his hat at this year’s Homecoming Scotland 2014, taking time while visiting Scotland recently to snap a “selfie” of himself tasting the official beer for the celebrations brewed by The Inveralmond Brewery in Perth.
The impromptu image was snapped at the luxurious Fonab Castle, who serve a range of Inveralmond’s craft beers, when Alan visited Perthshire to open The Birks Cinema on St Andrews Day. It has been kept under wraps until the beer was more widely available in shops and bars across the country.
Described by its creator Ken Duncan as “An exuberant ale which displays berry sweetness on the palate and aromatic hoppiness, crafted to encapsulate the energy and presence of our incredible nation in 2014”, the beer will be featured at key Homecoming Scotland 2014 events and catapult its already growing global reputation onto an international platform.
Available in craft keg, cask and 330ml bottle, orders are currently flowing in from on and off trade customers across the country. Export orders for Homecoming Scotland Beer have already been shipped to Italy and Sweden, and markets in Australia, New Zealand and the US have shown strong initial interest in the product.
The range of Inveralmond Brewery beers can now be found in most multiple retailers and the company exports its products to countries in continental Europe, Americas and Asia Pacific. The independent craft brewer employs 18 people, and their turnover hit £1.5m last year and is expected to grow in 2014.
Fergus Clark, Managing Director of Inveralmond Brewery, commented:
“We were delighted to hear that Alan enjoyed the Homecoming Scotland 2014 limited edition beer and has given it the taste test. Opportunities like Homecoming Scotland 2014 give home grown Scottish companies genuine prominence on an international stage and we’re very proud to know that one of our first bottles was given the Hollywood treatment.”
