Hawkshead Brewery wins Brewery of the Year Award
Hawkshead Brewery is Cumbria Life’s Brewery of the Year.
Hawkshead were one of 48 finalists shortlisted for the third Cumbria Life Food & Drink Awards which sees businesses judged in 13 categories.
Judges said “They have worked harder to promote Cumbrian beer in and out of the county than anyone, and in head brewer Matt Clarke, owner Alex Brodie has possibly the best in the county, if not the north.”
Hawkshead’s Managing Director Alex Brodie said: “There are an awful lot of breweries in Cumbria so we’re very proud of this. We’ve always been very Cumbrian, very Lake District, and we very much see ourselves as part of the developing Cumbrian food and drink offering and we’ve continually sought to carry the message further afield.”
Sales Manager Anne Jones said, of the ceremony, “It was a great evening and we were very proud to be among the finalists. The food and service provided by Kendal College students was excellent.”
