Corvedale brew refreshes MPs
Norman Pearce and his son Justin, of the Corvedale brewery at the Sun Inn, Corfton, were invited by local MP Philip Dunne to the House of Commons, to celebrated guest beer status for their Fuggling Good Beer last week.
Norman Pearce is a well know figure in Shropshire brewing circles as the inspiration behind the Corvedale Brewery, which hosts the Ale in the Dale festival, and also the SIBA annual beer festival in Ludlow Castle.
Mr Dunne said “I was delighted to be able to secure guest beer slot for Norman’s latest creation and to welcome him and Justin to the House of Commons during the week of the Queen’s Speech. I have seen how popular the beer has been this past week.”
Shropshire resident Robert Humphries, who retires this month after 22 years as Secretary to the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group, the largest all party group in Parliament, was on hand to welcome Shropshire Beer to the premises. He said “This Shropshire brew made a perfect summer’s drink.”
Andrew Griffiths MP, Chairman of the APPG hosted the event and presented Norman and his son with Portcullis Beer badges, normally reserved for Parliamentarian members.
