Kammac plc invests heavily in Production System which allows ultimate flexibility in the production of Casks Pins and Kegs
Kammac plc, has invested heavily in building a tailor-made piece of production equipment, developed and designed for the company. The new equipment enables Kammac to provide its customers with personalised Kegs or Casks with the vastly reduced lead time of just ten days, with no minimum order required whilst still meeting the agreed BFBi (Brewing, Food & Beverage Industry Suppliers’ Association) standards.
The family owned and managed company has run a highly successful manufacturing and production support business for the past twenty-five years. The latest investment is part of a re-structuring programme for its ‘Keg & Cask’ division based in Burton upon Trent.
“Keg & Cask is ten year’s old and is one of the world’s leading cask manufacturers, supplying large regional and micro-breweries throughout the UK, Europe and the United States. As our customers’ needs are changing, and with the increase of craft brewers, particularly in the UK, our business needs to align itself to those demands and facilitate a more flexible approach in both volume and lead times” Ged Carabini, business development manager, Keg & Cask explains.
As well as the reduction in lead time from 6 weeks to 10 days, the new equipment will enable Keg & Cask to provide its customers with even more competitive pricing on a wider range of products. The Company’s reputation for providing high quality personalised Casks, Pins and Kegs was paramount in the design specification for the new equipment and the new system facilitates embossed top chimes, serial numbers and colour banding all within the ten-day time frame.
Ged Carabini continues: “As well as providing this service to our larger customers, we can also now enable micro-breweries to be able to afford to build their Cask and Keg stock holding at a rate that suits their budgets and business growth plans. Keg & Cask will be in the position to offer even the smallest brewery a personalised grade ‘A’ stainless steel container”.
