Two Silvers for Saltaire Brewery at World Beer Awards 2014
Hot on the heels of receiving Gold at the Great British Beer Festival last month, Yorkshire based Saltaire Brewery has received international recognition for two of its bottled beers. Both Saltaire Pride 3.9% and Saltaire Celebration Ale 6.5% were awarded Silver in the European category at the 2014 World Beer Awards.
Saltaire’s Celebration Ale was only launched in January this year and was specially brewed to celebrate HRH The Princess Royal’s visit to the brewery to officially open the new fermentation facilities. It was awarded Silver in the Europe’s Best Bitter over 5% category.
Saltaire Pride was launched into bottle format in July 2013 yet has had to wait until this year to be entered in a bottled beer competition even though it is popular with cask and bottle customers. It received Silver in the Europe’s Best Bitter up to 4% category.
Tony Gartland, Managing Director said: “Winning two Silvers at the World Beer Awards is a real honour for Saltaire Brewery, especially when you see the range and quality of the international entries. The team at Saltaire have a real passion for creating and brewing great tasting ales – we’re very proud to receive recognition for our ales at an international level”.
Saltaire Pride is available in cask and bottles. Bottled Saltaire Pride is stocked in Morrisons and Tesco throughout Yorkshire and independent off licences. Celebration Ale will be brewed and bottled again by mid-November, to check availability contact the Brewery.
