Brewery Serves Up Life Saving Equipment To Dartmoor Rescue
Dartmoor Brewery has donated £500 to the Dartmoor Rescue Group, which has enabled the purchase of vital equipment for their life- saving services. A new GPS communication radio and location beacon will now be assisting the teams just in time for winter, when their services are in particular demand. The new equipment will be used by Dartmoor Rescue in situations where weather conditions are poor, a missing person is in danger and their location unknown.
Dartmoor Rescue helps the police and other related rescue organisations to locate, render appropriate assistance and evacuate missing persons to a place of safety, and Dartmoor Brewery are delighted to be supporting the important work of the local charity.
Mike Lunney, Head Brewer of Dartmoor Brewery, commented: “Dartmoor Rescue provide a vital service on and around the National Park and we’re very pleased that our donation has provided two units of essential kit for the teams. The Brewery is based in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, so Dartmoor is intrinsic to our business and we’re passionate about promoting and preserving Dartmoor and supporting local organisations.”
Team Leader of Dartmoor SRT Tavistock, Paul Hudson commented “we are extremely grateful for this donation. Like all Mountain Rescue teams, we rely on contributions from the public to enable us to meet essential running costs, and this has been a huge help.
