Britannia Sets Sail with Hawkshead Beer On-Board
Beer lovers can now enjoy a taste of The Lakes while in the Mediterranean or the Caribbean on-board P&O’s new cruise ship Britannia.
Cumbrian-based Hawkshead Brewery was approached by P&O to supply the cruise liner with bottles of their dark premium beer Brodie’s Prime 4.9%.
The official naming by the Queen, her first such event in nearly 20 years, took place on Tuesday 10th March in time for the ship’s maiden voyage on Saturday 14th March.
Hawkshead are one of only 7 breweries to represent the North West in what is the largest selection of beers at sea.
“We’re very proud to be part of such a wide ranging beer offering” said Anne Jones, Sales Manager at Hawkshead, “It’s great that P&O have looked to smaller craft breweries like ourselves as well as to the big national brewers to supply them”.
