Vigo launches Canning Lines for UK Craft Breweries
Silver sponsor of SIBA and equipment supplier, Vigo Ltd, has announced its launch into canning lines. Vigo revealed at BEER-X that it is UK agent for US canning equipment innovators, American Beer Equipment, who developed the LinCan™ canning line.
Sales of craft beer in cans are growing so fast in the US (up 89% year on year, compared to bottles at only 9%) that it’s being called a ‘revolution’. As a result, craft breweries in the UK are seriously considering adding cans to their packaging range. Not only do cans protect beer from light and oxygen and retain fresh hop flavours, they are also highly portable and welcome in places where bottles are not, which can open up new market opportunities for craft breweries.
The LinCan™ canning line was designed and manufactured by ABE for, and as a result of close collaboration with, craft brewers in America. It is fully automatic and available in capacities of 900, 1800 or 3600 cans per hour. Designed for maximum efficiency and ease of use, it features reliable fill rates and low dissolved oxygen pickup.
