East Yorkshire brewery wins Tesco listing
Directors and staff at a Yorkshire coast brewery are celebrating after winning a contract to supply Tesco stores throughout Yorkshire.
Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery has secured listings in 44 stores for its award winning blonde beer, Wold Gold.
Wold Gold, 4.8% ABV, is made from Wolds grown barley, wheat and Cara malt with Goldings and Styrian hops that give the beer its soft, fruity flavour with a hint of spice. It won a coveted three gold stars from the Guild of Fine Food in its Taste Awards in 2013.
Of the latest listing, brewery owner Tom Mellor said: “We’re delighted that one of our best-selling beers is now available in Tesco and is selling very well.”
Farm based Wold Top Brewery is part of the Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) scheme for environmental initiatives and is also working closely with the RSPB to promote its birdlife. Its range of award winning ales is also available through the website, independent and multiple retailers, farm shops, delis, hotels, pubs and off licences.
