The Snipe Reopens Following Brewery Investment
The Snipe pub in Audenshaw has reopened following a substantial joint investment from Robinsons Brewery and licensees Sarah Harwood and James Fox.
The pub closed for a period of eight weeks whilst Robinsons’ acclaimed in-house design team transformed the former look with a contemporary design that anyone would be proud to call their local.
James Fox, Licensee of The Snipe, said: “We were approached by Robinsons at the end of last year with plans update the pub. It wasn’t really a question as to whether or not we should do it; the pub was looking tired and definitely needed a lick of paint to bring it into the 21st century.”
Upon entry to the pub, the biggest change is the configuration of the space. Several obstructing walls have been removed to create an open plan trading area with greater visibility and connection to the bar. The new décor is a mix of industrial style furniture along with fixed leather seating and copper pendant lighting all offset against a tasteful palette of blacks, greys and greens.
A new log burner, which is sure to be popular during the winter months, has been installed to help create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.
The bar area has become the focal point of The Snipe; lovingly rebuilt with an oak bar top and prominent black and grey tiles. A new arched copper back bar proudly displays an extensive range of handpicked spirits from around the world. Four new hand pulls have also been installed serving a rotating range of Robinsons award-winning cask beers including Unicorn; the pub’s most popular ale.
Externally, the pub has been greatly improved with a new planting scheme along with lighting and Robinsons’ trademark copper signage. The pub’s popular beer garden has also been enhanced and a new play area has been installed further cementing The Snipe’s reputation as a family friendly pub.
Sarah Harwood, Licensee of The Snipe said: “The brand new look has given the pub a new lease of life. It’s really ignited interest with our locals and our regulars who are over the moon with the new look.”
It’s not just the pub’s look that has changed, for the first time, The Snipe has unveiled a food menu dedicated to bringing the best, honest pub food to Audenshaw with classics such as Lasagne and traditional beer battered fish chips.
Closing, James said: “The support we’ve had has been incredible. Myself, Sarah and the entire team want to thank everyone from Robinsons including cellar services who have worked tirelessly to make sure we can keep the beer flowing, the retail team who have helped us choose our food, spirits and wine menus, the property team for coming up with a wonderful design and everyone who has helped along the way.”
The Snipe is now open serving a rotating range of Robinsons’ award-winning cask ales, world lagers, food, wine and spirits. For more information on The Snipe follow them on Facebook: www.facebook.com/thesnipeaudenshaw
