The Horse Shoe Receives Brewery Refurbishment
The Horse Shoe in High Lane has become the next pub to receive a world-class joint refurbishment from Robinsons Brewery and licensees, Sarah Wootton and Mike Moran.
Mike said: “The pub was definitely in need of a lick of paint. It was full of character but the old look was definitely past its prime. When we were approached by Robinsons it was a no-brainer.”
The popular 18th century pub was closed for four weeks whilst Robinsons sympathetically transformed the interior with an ‘up-to-date’ traditional design.
Internally, the pub’s new colour scheme, a combination of earthy tones, has created the feeling of light and space and the addition of a log burning open fire is an instant focal point upon entry.
The seating areas around the pub have been lovingly re-upholstered in a combination of different leathers which offset perfectly against the sleek industrial fittings that have become a trademark of Robinsons’ refurbishments.
The installation of a glass partition to the snug area has linked it to the main trading area creating the ideal place to find a quiet corner but still feel part of the hustle and bustle.
The bar has been relocated to a central location with a new back bar displaying a range of premium spirits from across the globe along with four new copper hand pulls serving a rotating range of Robinsons’ award winning beers including Unicorn, the pub’s most popular cask ale.
Externally, a new planting scheme and copper signage has improved the pubs welcome and appeal from the busy A6 road that runs past the pub.
Sarah said: “The new refurbishment is outstanding. It has not only changed the way to pub looks but improved it from an operational standpoint as well. We are really made up with it and, most importantly, so are our customers.”
Mike said: “We are so glad that the pub was ready for the bank holiday weekend as it is one of our busiest weekends of the year. We want to commend the entire Robinsons’ team –from the painters to the cellar services –for all their hard work in getting us ready and open.”
Alan Chapman, Business Development Manager for Robinsons Brewery said: “Sarah and Mike have been licensees at the Horse Shoe for the past 8 years and have helped successfully build its reputation as a busy and friendly community local. The new range of products and menus along with the new layout and look will ensure that the Horse Shoe will continue to be the heart of the High Lane community for many years to come.”
The Horse Shoe is now open serving a rotating range of Robinsons cask ales, premium spirits and world lagers along with a select food menu. Keep up-to-date with the Horse Shoe by following the pub on Facebook: www.facebook.com/horseshoeinnhighlane
