Oakham Ales Expands Team and Brewery for 2016
Oakham Ales, the acclaimed innovative brewery based in Peterborough, has expanded its head office team to forty-four people following several high profile awards for its beers. Planning permission has also recently been granted to expand the Brewery, with a plan in place to double the current annual brewing capacity to 100,000 hectolitres. The head-office team has grown over three-fold during the past five years, reflecting the success of this dynamic and expanding business which has seen consistent year on year growth of around 25% throughout this period.
Seven recent appointments include; Neil Galloway, Operations Manager, Dominic Leighton, National Sales Executive (North), Jonathan Shaw, Area Sales Manager (London), Lindsey Faull, Brewery Administrator (part-time), Steve Corry, Drayman, Mike Simpson, Off-Trade and Export (part-time) and Talia Karim who began as an apprentice and will now become a full-time Sales Support Assistant. A further appointment of a National Sales Executive to cover the South is also expected to be made within the next few weeks.
The appointment of Jonathan Shaw as a dedicated Area Sales Manager based in London, a new area to have direct supply from the Brewery, will further support Oakham’s current distribution routes into London in the wake of the buoyant market conditions and increasing demand for its multi award-winning range of ales, kegs and ciders there.
Oakham Ales produce exceptional full flavoured hoppy beers with its core range winning multiple awards. Its Green Devil IPA has been named Champion Cask Ale at The International Brewing Awards 2015. The Brewery also picked up the Champion title in 2013 when it last ran. The cask beer has won fifteen gold medals and nineteen awards in total since it was launched five years ago, including being named Supreme Champion at the national SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) Awards in 2012.
Adrian Posnett, Managing Director, Oakham Ales comments: “With the continuing success of our core range and plans to expand our keg line-up for 2016 we wanted to ensure that all areas of the business had the additional support necessary to ensure that we are able to continue to deliver the high level of service that our customers have come to expect from us. Despite tough competition with new breweries launching every week, I’m delighted to report that Oakham Ales has maintained steady growth in all areas and I’m confident that the new appointees will help us to continue to build on that success.”
