Birmingham Beer Bash
We’re pleased to announce the launch of Birmingham Beer Bash, a brand new festival celebrating great beer and the craft of the brewer, coming to Birmingham on 26th and 27th July 2013. Held at the Bond Company, a former canal side warehouse on Fazeley Street in the resurgent Digbeth area of the city, the event will showcase some of the best beers local, national and international brewing has to offer. Over 100 cask and keg beers will be available across three bars, with the added opportunity to meet the brewers behind them, take part in tutored tastings, and learn about aspects of the brewing process and ingredients in relaxed surroundings. Among the wide range of beers being sourced for the event, there will be special releases, new launches, local exclusives and rare imports. Catering during the event will be provided by a number of great local traders demonstrating some of the best the area has to offer.
A truly independent event, the Birmingham Beer Bash concept was created by local beer bloggers and enthusiasts, who met via Twitter with the shared goal of bringing the most progressive elements of UK and international brewing to the Midlands, and to awaken a burgeoning beer scene in Birmingham. Proceeds from the event will be put to good use locally and we are proud to be supporting the excellent work of Birmingham Children’s Hospital from any profits the event makes.
We are also pleased to announce the support of our headline sponsor, Purity Brewing Co. Based down the road in rural Warwickshire, Purity is a multi-award-winning brewery. Their beers are lovingly handcrafted and brewed with a conscience. Purity pours its heart and soul into helping local events. They are excited to be partnering with the Birmingham Beer Bash and supporting the team with their industry knowledge and contacts.
Event Director, David Shipman, said “An event like this would have been impossible for us to put on without the fantastic support we have received from Purity, and it is a real bonus for us to have a local company involved in this way. Their help will enable us to bring the very best in UK and world brewing to Birmingham in an excellent setting, and definitively mark the city’s place on the beer map of Britain. We think our plans are bold and exciting and Purity’s backing is a strong endorsement of that.”
Paul Halsey, Managing Director of Purity, adds “We have worked hard at Purity to broaden the appeal of beer and engage with new audiences over the years. The team behind the Birmingham Beer Bash share our beliefs and together we are looking forward to delivering an exciting new project for the city.”
Tickets for the event are due to go on sale in March.
