FYNE ALES BREW CHARITY BEER WITH THE UK’S BEST BREWERIES
Fyne Ales have brewed a collaboration beer with eight of the top breweries in the UK for charity.
At this year’s Fyne Fest, Fyne Ales’ annual beer, food and music festival, Fyne Ales decided to work with eight different breweries to a brew a collaboration beer for charity. The beer, know as Feast Black Ale, was brewed by brewers from Fyne Ales and Eight of the UK’s best craft breweries, including; Alechemy, Hawkshead Brewery, Ashover, Buxton Brewery, Thornbridge, Elixir, Magic Rock Brewing, and Siren Craft Brew. A portion of the revenue from each cask of beer sold will be donated to Mountain Rescue.
Each year Fyne Ales hold Fyne Fest at their brewery. With over 100 different beers, local food and music on over the weekend the event attracts over 1000 attendees every year. This year’s festival was the biggest yet and with so many breweries attending it was the perfect opportunity to stage the collaboration.
Fyne Ales’ Head Brewer, Malcolm Downie, commented on the beer saying,
“Each year lots of brewers come to our festival and we wanted to bring all of those skills together to make a one off limited edition beer. It was great fun to work with some of our friends in the industry and to make a great tasting beer for charity.”
The name for the beer was decided upon by the brewers involved and got its name from the collective noun for a group of brewers being a “feast” of brewers. The style and recipe for the beer was a topic of great debate amongst the brewers before a black ale was finally decided upon. The beer has aromas of chocolate and prunes with chocolate flavours, a light mouth feel and a liquorice finish. The beer will only be available in cask in very limited quantities and sold in selected bars around the country.
