Launceston to holds its first beer festival
A one day beer spectacular will be held in Launceston’s town square on Saturday 31 August 2013, between 11am and 10:30pm.
Organised by local beer sommelier and owner of Penpont Brewery, Joe Thomson, the day promises to be a fantastic opportunity for new and experienced beer enthusiasts alike. With a host of local and national breweries getting involved, there will be over 30 different types of beer on tap, 25 cask ales and 6 beers on craft keg, as well as a selection of cider and imported bottled beer.
“2013 has been a fantastic year for Penpont Brewery” said Joe. “Holding Launceston’s first ever beer festival seems the perfect way to celebrate and we’ll also be launching our new pale ale. Brewed with plenty of hops and fermented over oak, it has a real fresh and fruity taste, perfect for summer”.
At the event visitors will be able to learn how to match beer and food, take part in tasting sessions and have the opportunity to meet brewers. Food will be available throughout the day and there will be live music in the evening.
