World Beer Award Winner launches into Morrisons
East Riding based Great Newsome Brewery is delighted to announce that Yorkshire supermarket chain Morrisons is to begin stocking its award winning bottled beers.
World Beer Award winning ‘Frothingham Best’ will be available in 75 Morrisons stores throughout Yorkshire from early September. The East Yorkshire based family brewery clinched the order working closely with drinks distributor PLB Group and Ilkley based ARC Retail Consultancy.
Matthew Hodgson from Great Newsome Brewery commented, “We are delighted that Morrisons have decided to stock our beer and very proud of all our recent award success. This is the largest single listing that we have had for one of our products since we began in 2007 and we are doubly pleased that a quality Yorkshire retailer has chosen to stock a quality, award -winning Yorkshire Beer.”
Great Newsome Brewery’s ‘Frothingham Best’ received national coverage in 2013 when it won a World Beer Award receiving the title the ‘Best Bitter under 5%’ in both Europe and the World. More recently, it has picked up a coveted gold star in the Guild of Fine Foods, 2014 Great Taste Awards reaffirming its pedigree. Frothingham Best has now gone on to become the brewery’s best selling beer, available in both cask and bottle, in numerous pubs, bars, shops and delis throughout the region.
Great Newsome Brewery uses old local dialect and points of interest to name its beers, like ‘Sleck Dust’, ‘Pricky Back Otchan’ and ‘Jem’s Stout’. Based on a working farm near Patrington just outside Hull, the brewery is able to use its own barley to brew its stunning range of beers. Having celebrated its 7th birthday in April, Great Newsome Brewery now supplies its award winning cask and bottles beers throughout the UK and to a growing overseas market.
