The Bulls Head reopens with stunning new look
Located in the heart of Hale Barns, The Bulls Head has received a stunning refurbishment by Robinsons Brewery that will ensure it continues charging ahead for many years to come.
Robinsons’ award-winning design team worked around the clock since the pub’s closure in July to transform the site with a cutting edge, premium design that is full of drama whilst retaining the Bulls Head’s reputation as quality pub.
Upon entry to the pub, the tone is set for the journey ahead. The pub’s traditional staircase has been enhanced with classic black and white checkerboard ceramic tiles and a beautiful timber balustrade and handrail. The combination marries seamlessly with premium fabric furnishings and herringbone parquet flooring; it’s instantly clear that this is a pub full of theatre and intrigue.
The new snug areas offer customers a secluded yet comfortable area, away from the hustle and bustle of other trading areas. With lighting levels dimmed and the addition of ‘Dickensian’ hooded chairs, the snugs feel atmospheric and intimate providing the perfect place to get lost in conversation.
The open bar space, lovingly dubbed the ‘Old Boys Bar’, feels like a traditional gentleman’s refuge featuring timber wall and ceiling panels along with traditional deep button fixed leather seating. The new rooms reaffirm the Bulls Head’s desire to maintain itself as a classic pub whilst offering a premium food menu.
Towards the rear in the dining areas, you’d be forgiven for thinking you had just stepped foot into the Hampton’s Rowing Club. The use of striped wallpaper, mahogany panelling, caramel coloured leathers and herringbone hardwood flooring gives a decadent back drop to the pub’s many feature installations.
With globe pendants, a black taxidermy bull and four handmade canoes which are suspended by from to the rafters, the design is full of intrigue with talking points around every corner.
With a combination of hearty comfort food served with freshly baked ale bread, ample vegetarian dishes and a variety of healthy, low calorie main courses, the Bulls Head’s menu champion’s classic British food created with fresh, local produce and presented with flair. The menu is a microcosm of the Bulls Head itself; a traditional British pub presented to leave a lasting impression.
The Bulls Head has become a pub that no longer asks for your attention, it demands it.
Simon Taylor, Retail Operations Manager for Robinsons Brewery said: “This refurbishment is the second phase of our reinvigoration of the Bulls Head. This new design, along with the recently refurbished letting bedrooms that adjoin the pub, will ensure the Bulls Head’s continued success in the future.”
William Robinson, Managing Director (Pubs Division) for Robinsons Brewery said: “2015 has been a phenomenal year for our emerging Managed House business. The Airport Pub, which opened in January, and The Bulls Head are both examples of the high level of quality that Robinsons are known for. We are proud of everyone who has contributed to this project so far and know that these developments along with our future plans will continue to solidify and raise the perceptions of Robinsons as an industry leader.”
The Bulls Head, Hale Barns opens from 7am on Tuesday 15th September serving a premium food offering along with breakfast menu and a rotating range of award-winning Robinsons cask ales.
