SaltaireXS Imperial IPA awarded Europe’s Best Imperial IPA in the 2015 World Beer Awards
This year’s World Beer Awards has added another top award to Yorkshire-based Saltaire Brewery’s international trophy haul with SaltaireXS Imperial IPA (9.5% ABV) voted Europe’s Best Imperial IPA after coming top in the UK heats in August.
SaltaireXS Imperial IPA (9.5% ABV) is a classic new world IPA. Its solid smooth malt base is layered with intense bitterness delivered by Simcoe and Galaxy hops. The dominant citrus and fruit hop flavours are developed through multiple hop charges during the brewing process and dry hopping during fermentation and conditioning.
Managing Director, Ewen Gordon said, “We challenged our brewers to concentrate the flavours, experiment with new techniques and produce beers at the leading edge of world beers – and the Saltaire XS range was born! So far we’ve produced the Imperial IPA and Imperial Stout (8.9% ABV) but we have ideas for more classic beers.
The recognition by the World Beer Awards is a fantastic endorsement of our brewing team and their creativity – especially when you see the quality of the other entries – but we won’t let it go to our heads! Our focus remains on quality, consistency and innovation to satisfy increasingly discerning drinkers in this highly competitive industry.”
The SaltaireXS range was launched in February 2015. It is available from independent beer shops, Saltaire Brewery Tap and Shop, and online from yorkshireales.co.uk.
