Award Success for Hambleton Ales
Staff at Hambleton Ales are celebrating after the Melmerby based business won the Best Beer Award for its Thoroughbred Pale Ale at the 2015 Taste Awards, run by Deliciouslyorkshire and The Yorkshire Post, held in Harrogate.
The brewery, which is celebrating its 25 year anniversary next year, is used to winning awards. However Thoroughbred has often been overlooked by the success of its Nightmare Porter, which since winning Champion Winter Beer of Britain in 1997 has dominated the awards ever since.
Thoroughbred, which is a 5.0% bottled Pale Ale, is a delicate blend of Citra, Centennial and Chinook American Hops, on top of a Pale and Munich Malt Base, that is a perfect balance of flavours for the serious beer lover. The judging team described it as “Lively and summery with a great smell. This beer has a hoppy and distinctive flavour with a great body – it’s a beer that delivers on all levels!”
Of the latest successes, Nick Stafford said: “We’re very proud to have won this award for Thoroughbred. All the team at the brewery have always thought this beer to be special and to be recognised in this way at the Taste Awards, .renowned for highlighting the regions reputation for quality food and drink, is high praise indeed.”
The latest award come hot on the heels of the brewery winning the title of the UK and Europe’s Best Speciality Beer 2015 for its Gluten Free Ale at the World Beer Awards.
All of Hambleton Ale’s bottled beers can be purchased online from www.hambletonales.co.uk or by popping into the brewery directly.
