Andy Hayward

Thames Side Brewery

Andy set up Thames Side Brewery in 2015, and he and his partner Michele still run most things themselves. Andy had a 41 year career handling US insurance claims in the City of London, but started home brewing in 1978 (he first joined CAMRA in 1976) when good beer was more difficult to come by! During his career he also lived in the USA (Philadelphia and Chicago) at around the time that the micro-breweries were starting up over there, and continued home brewing during this time. Finally Andy took the leap a few years ago and left the insurance industry to start a business doing something he had a passion for – making beer!
