Senior Brewer
We have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join the team as Senior Brewer at Saltaire Brewery. You would be joining a well-regarded regional brewery and would be leading the Production team on our 67HL capacity kit. Following recent external investment, the brewery has exciting plans for growth in the immediate future and we’re looking for someone who is ambitious and driven to come with us on that journey. You’ll join a team of 5 Brewers, all with a passion for quality and innovation, and be a key part of expanding our range of beer styles for a growing customer base.
Reporting to the Brewery Operations Manager, this is a full-time, hands-on production role managing a team of 5 Brewers and 1 Brewery Operative. You’ll work closely with the Brewery Operations Manager to produce the best quality beer on a consistent basis, whilst leading the brewers in the development of new products.
Responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day management of the Production team
- Manage daily brewing operations and ensure consistency with the finished product
- New recipe formulation and the development of existing recipes to meet commercial requirement.
- Researching new brewing techniques, ingredients, equipment and including the development of non-beer drinks products
- Lead by example in health, safety, and quality standards
- Coach and mentor all members of the Production team, ensuring all processes are followed in conformance with standard operating procedures
- Point of contact for the Production Department whilst on shift
- Perform internal lab analysis in line with our rigorous quality program
- Representing the brewery at industry events
Requirements
- At least 3 years commercial brewing experience
- A proven track record of new recipe development
- Professional brewing qualification such as the IBD’s GCB or Diploma in Brewing
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Coaching, training, and mentoring capability
- Excellent problem-solving, reasoning skills, and process adherence
Desirables
- Canning/Bottling line operating experience
- Forklift license
- Direct line management
- Production of soft drinks & ciders
- Experience in achieving SALSA/BRC
- Relevant educational qualifications such as Chemistry, Biology, Engineering.
Additional Information
- £32,000-£40,000 salary, depending on experience

This role is a full-time position based on 37.5 hours a week and occasional weekend work may be required.
